This species is from southern Mexico and is known in the US trade as “Mini Lady Slippers,” which refers to the tiny red flowers. It has very thin, wand-like stems that are gray-green, and the entire plant offsets prolifically forming clumps. These plants are rooted offsets in 2-inch pots.
