From the Western Cape Province of South Africa, this species defines one form of the medusoid Euphorbias. Soft green branches radiate from a tuberous root stock. These plants are selected for their bizarre cristate forms, creating monstrose plants that are all different. The cyathia are unimportant. These plants are rooted cuttings in 6-inch pots.
