This species is from the region spanned by India and Pakistan. A large shrub that branches from the base, the stems are round, light green in color, and have small black spines that are widely spaced. Relatively large leaves are produced seasonally on the tips of the branches. The cyathia are a light red that strongly contrasts with the branch color. These plants are rooted cuttings in one-gallon pots.
