This species is from the coastal areas of central Tanzania, particularly near the town of Bagamoyo. This slender arborescent species naturally grows in dense shade. The leaves are long and quite flexible, and the plants tend to have a maximum height of about 3-4 feet on each stem. These plants are rooted offsets in one-gallon pots.
