This species came from a hillside south of Lake Naivasha in the Rift Valley of southern Kenya (WY 1022). It readily produces offsets from the main plant, which tends to lie over on its side. The leaves are dark green, relatively narrow with sharp tips, and bearing faint yellow-green spots and bands. What separates this from our large form of S. suffruticosa are the smooth leaves that can easily reach 3 feet in length. These plants are rooted offsets in 5-gallon pots.
