From northeastern Kenya, probably extending into Somalia, this species is a bridge between the acaulescent S. pinguicula and the more caulescent species, particularly S. arborescens. The fleshy leaves are dark-green with a red-white margin and a sharp tip. These plants are rooted offsets in 5-inch pots.
