This species is from southern Africa, typically from the arid and semiarid areas in the southwestern part of the continent. These plants are propagated from material originally collected near Nylsdoorf, South Africa. The leaves are narrow with a prominent upper channel and characteristic smaller channels all around. The leaves are distichous and light gray-green. These plants are rooted offsets in one-gallon pots.
