Unlike its better known cousin, Gasteria armstrongii, G. nitida forms rosettes that are well above ground. This relatively large species has the same dark color as its more famous cousin, although with white spots, and G. nitida occurs eastward and tends to prefer full sun in habitat. These plants are seedlings in 8-inch pots.
