Brief Description: |
An acaulescent and rhizomatous species, the plants have 2 - 4 flexible leaves that are rosulate, suberect, recurved-to-spreading nearer the blunt tip, and linear-lanceolate to lanceolate in outline. The leaves are 30-69 cm long and 3-6.4 cm wide, narrowed at the base to a 2.5-7.5 cm long channelled petiole, and have a green margin. The upper smooth surface is dark green with indistinct pale green bands, and the lower surface is slightly paler with more distinct bands. The inflorescence is 30-50 cm tall and simple with 3 - 6 flowers per cluster. |
Similar Species: |
Sansevieria senegambica bears similarities to a number of species of Sansevieria, including (but not limited to) Sansevieria dawei, S. liberica, S. nilotica, S. trifasciata, and S. zeylanica. However, the only species with which it could be confused in its range is S. liberica, which is light green in color. |
