Sansevieria chlorantha M. Burkart, Kavula, Sikawa & Yinger

Protologue: -
Etymology: Named for the greenish color of the floral tube.
Subgenus: Sansevieria
Group: Sansevieria raffillii
Distribution: Kilimanjaro Region, Tanzania.
Brief Description: The acaulescent, rhizomatous, and clumping perennial has 6 leaves in a rosette. The dull dark green leaves are spreading, flexible, and up to 100 cm long and up to 62 cm wide. The rough to slightly roughened leaves are broadly U-shaped and lack a central channel, and both surfaces have whitish dots lighter green banding, and up to 8 darker longitudinal lines. The leaf margin is reddish and the tip is dull and white. The inflorescence is up to 135 cm tall and is simple with 5 - 7 greenish-white, recurved flowers per cluster and subequal filaments and style.
Similar Species: Sansevieria chlorantha is only known from one locality which makes comparisons with other sansevierias difficult. It has affinities and differences with Sansevieria enchiridiofolia and S. lunatifolia.
