This species supposedly has been lumped into the genus Eriocyce, but we will continue to use Neochilenia. This beautiful species, from the Atacama Desert of Chile, has a dark blue-green body and resembles N. occulta except the more prominent tubercles have what looks like a little white stripe on the top. The flowers are pinkish-red. These plants are seedlings in 4-inch pots.
