From the Masai region of Kenya and Tanzania, this species has a woody caudex. Upright branches that are irregularly angled and very spiny arise from this caudex. The branches are gray-green with numerous constrictions, and the cyathia are yellow. We offer rooted cuttings of this interesting species in 10-inch pots.
