Aloe scabrifolia is widely distributed in northeastern Kenya east of the Rift Valley. Once mistakenly included in Aloe turkanensis, this species differs in its rough ("scabrid") leaves and more upright habit with long, but floppy, stems. Its flowers are secund and dull red in color. These plants are seedlings in 5-inch pots.
