Distributed over a wide area across the southern part of the Western Cape Province, Republic of South Africa, G. brachyphylla is a stemless, distichous species with relatively dense inflorescence. The smooth, shiny, and pointed-tipped leaves are distinguishing for this species. These plants are rooted offsets in 4-inch pots.
