This species occurs in a broad range from Saudi Arabia to India and Ethiopia to Tanzania. Plectranthus barbatus has hairy semisucculent leaves that are aromatic and forms a woody, non-succulent stem. This species puts up spikes of attractive purple flowers in the fall and early winter. These plants are rooted cuttings in 5-inch pots. They can be planted in the ground in warmer climates, or they make excellent hanging plant subjects.
