Clearly this tree species, from Madagascar, is related to P. rutenbergianum, but we keep it at the species level. This is a medium-sized tree with large green leaves and a stem lined with spines. The flowers are white and clustered near the stem tips. This species blooms at a smaller size that P. rutenbergianum, which is a much larger plant. These plants are seedlings in 5-inch pots.
