From Madagascar, this species previously considered a variety of Aloe capitata was raised to species level in the recent book on Aloes of Madagascar. This species forms a simple, arborescent rosette and typically grows in the shade on marble rocks. It has light blue-green leaves with scattered tubercles on the lower side. The flowers are orange-yellow. These plants are seedlings in 4-inch pots.
