This medium-sized Ficus grows in coastal areas from Kenya to South Africa. The green leaves are tongue-shaped, hence the epithet. It can grow as an epiphyte but more commonly grows in the ground. This plant can take salt spray, reflecting at least some hardiness, although it is unlikely to take much if any frost. These plants are rooted cuttings in 5-inch pots.
