Widely distributed in southern and eastern Africa, notably the eastern provinces of South Africa, this forest tree has a fissured trunk and evergreen leaves. It is known as a strangler fig, although it does not produce aerial roots and grows in dry forests. These plants are seedlings in one-gallon pots.
