From northern Mozambique and southeastern Tanzania, this shrubby Monadenium has leaves best described as dark green with ragged margins. The stem produces sparse branches and has a yellow-brown, shredding bark that is less pronounced than M. elegans. The bracts are yellow-green and not particularly showy. These plants are rooted cuttings in 3-inch pots.
